Seat Chart App

Seating Chart Software

Browser-based seating chart software for professional event planners, wedding planners, restaurant operators, conference organizers, and corporate event teams. The tool below is the full canvas — drag-drop tables, CSV guest import, PDF export at print resolution — built for the events you run all year.

Pro at $19/mo (or $59/yr) is the right tier for anyone running 5+ events a year. Cloud save means your charts follow you across laptop, phone, and tablet; CSV import means a 500-guest event takes 20 minutes to populate; shareable read-only links mean your committee can review without editing rights.

What "software" means here

Browser-based SaaS. No install. No platform-specific app. No desktop client. Open seatchart.app on any device with a browser; your account state and saved charts follow.

Built on a modern web stack — Next.js, a Konva.js canvas, jsPDF, and auto-save to your account. Performance is competitive with native desktop software at the typical event size (under 500 seats). For 1,000+ seat events we recommend a desktop browser for the larger canvas.

If you're a corporate event team with specific security or procurement requirements, email [email protected] and we'll talk through what you need.

Software features for professional planners

CSV guest import — paste your guest list with name and table columns, the tool distributes guests across tables in seconds. Faster than typing names individually for any event over 50 guests.

Cloud save across devices — your charts live in your account; sign in from any device and pick up where you left off. Essential for planners working between office laptop, on-site iPad, and after-hours phone.

Shareable read-only links — generate a link that lets your committee, your client, or your day-of coordinator view the chart without editing rights. They review on their phone; you control the source of truth.

Multiple events per account — keep all your events organized in one place. Switch between this weekend's wedding and next month's corporate gala without losing context.

Print-resolution PDF + PNG + CSV export — three formats for three workflows: the printed venue PDF, the slide deck PNG, the catering team's CSV.

No watermark — Pro PDFs are clean. Critical for high-end client deliverables.

How event planners typically use the software

Initial client meeting: open the tool, sketch the proposed layout on screen, share the read-only link with the client by the end of the meeting. They review at home, you adjust.

RSVP-deadline week: CSV-import the confirmed list into the chart. The chart populates in seconds; you spend the time you would have spent typing names on actual planning work.

Venue walkthrough: open the chart on iPad at the venue. Drag tables to match the actual floor plan. Note the pillars, the dance floor location, the bar position.

Day-of: the printed PDF is at the venue entrance for escort cards and at the catering kitchen for plating. Your day-of coordinator has the app open on their phone as the working copy for walk-ins.

Post-event: archive the chart in your account. Reference it next year if the same client books a similar event.

Quick tips

  • Set up a folder structure inside your account: one chart per event, named with the date and client. The Pro tier handles unlimited events.
  • Share read-only links instead of sending PDFs by email — clients see live updates without you needing to re-export.
  • For very large events (500+ seats), break the floor plan into sections. Each section is its own chart; the catering team gets one printed PDF per section.
  • Color-code your tables by client preference (formal vs. casual, family vs. friends) by using the table-label field creatively — the tool doesn't have native color labels, but labels like "FAM-01", "FRD-02" serve the same purpose.
  • Keep a backup PDF on your laptop in case the day-of WiFi fails. The cloud save in your account is your primary copy, but offline backups are good practice.

Frequently asked questions

Is this software, a website, or an app?
Browser-based software. It runs on any modern browser without install. For your accounting, it's software — a subscription SaaS at $19/mo or $59/yr. The user-facing branding emphasizes the "app" feel because most users prefer that mental model, but the architecture is SaaS through and through.
Do you have an API for integration?
Not today. An API and integrations with event-management platforms (the Cvent / Eventbrite / Bizzabo category) are on the roadmap, not yet shipped. If integration is a deciding factor for you, email [email protected] and tell us what you'd connect it to — that's how we prioritize.
How does this compare to AllSeated or Prismm?
AllSeated and Prismm focus on the high-end wedding planner segment with 3D venue visualization and detailed floor-plan modeling, priced for enterprise. Seat Chart App focuses on the broader event-planning market with a simpler canvas, faster setup, and a lower price point at $19/mo. For most events under 500 guests, our software is the better fit; if you need photo-real 3D walkthroughs, theirs is.
Is there a team plan?
Not at general availability — the Pro tier supports a single user account today. Team plans (multi-user collaboration on the same charts) are on the roadmap for late 2026. In the meantime, share read-only links with your team for review and feedback.
Do you offer enterprise pricing?
If you're a corporate team with 10+ events a year or specific security and procurement needs, email [email protected] and we'll work out pricing that fits. We'd rather scope a real plan with you than publish a tier that doesn't match your situation.
Can I export my data if I cancel?
Yes. Every account can export every chart as PDF, PNG, and CSV at any time. If you cancel Pro, you retain read-only access to your existing charts on the free plan; you can't add new charts beyond the free-plan limits, but your old charts are exportable indefinitely.
