The Hollywood Bowl is the outdoor amphitheater at 2301 N Highland Avenue in Los Angeles, the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. It opened on July 11, 1922, and Alfred Hertz, called the father of the Bowl, conducted the LA Phil's first concert there. Tips before you go
You can bring your own food to any event. At LA Phil events you may also bring wine and beer, including glass bottles and wine glasses, according to the Bowl's FAQ. Events run by outside promoters ban outside alcohol, glass and cans. Bags don't need to be clear but must fit under your seat, up to 15 by 15 by 22 inches. Gates open two hours before the concert. On-site parking is stacked and limited, so many guests take the Park & Ride buses or Bowl Shuttles. Bowl Shuttle rides are free if you show a Metro TAP card used in the two hours before you board.
How to read the Hollywood Bowl seating chart
Closest to the stage is the Pool Circle, then the numbered Garden Boxes, then the Terrace Boxes, with sections D and E beside them. Between Promenades 2 and 3, the Super Seats sit among sections K1 to K3, J2, G2 and F1 to F3. The bands above rise to V, W and X at the top.
Check your ticket for a box number or a lettered section, then the row and seat. On the chart, the Side Boxes are beside the stage rather than in the main rows.
Accessible seats are in the last row of sections D, E, F1 to F3, G2, J2, K1 to K3 and the Super Seats. In F3 and K3 they fill the last two rows. More are in Garden Boxes 643 and 944, some side boxes and Ramps A and E. The Bowl sets aside at least 200 wheelchair, semi-ambulatory and companion tickets.
