It opened on September 15, 2006, with Rusty Wallace as its lead designer, and NASCAR has owned it since 2013. The NASCAR Cup Series first raced there in 2024, and IndyCar did not return in 2026. Tips before you go
The speedway is cashless, and outside food and drinks, including alcohol, are not allowed apart from two sealed bottles of water. The policies page allows one empty soft-sided cooler up to 14 by 14 by 14 inches, though the family page says coolers can hold ice, so check before race day. Each person may bring two bags up to 18 by 18 by 14 inches. Grandstand parking is free, and race traffic should take I-80 exit 168.
How to read the Iowa Speedway seating chart
The first digit tells you the grandstand and level. On the Turn 1 side, sections 101 to 110 are the lower stand and 201 to 211 the upper. On the Turn 4 side, 301 to 310 are lower and 401 to 411 upper. The Newton Club sits between them.

All ADA grandstand seats are on the ground level of the grandstands, plus seats in the Newton Club. An elevator serves the suite areas, and guests with the right credentials who need to reach the infield can take a tram from the stop near ticket booth 1.
